African Telecommunications Union

Founded in 1977 as a specialized agency of the Organisation of African Unity, now African Union, in the field of telecommunications, the African Telecommunications Union (ATU-UAT) took its present name in 1999. This led to the transformation of the agency into a partnership between public and private stakeholders in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector.

Angosat - ggpen

Angola’s National Space Programme (GGPEN), announced that 33% of ANGOSAT-2’s C-band capacity has been sold, with 25 African ambassadors attending the presentation. The general manager praised Angola’s Minister of Telecommunications, Eng. Mário Oliveira, for advancing the African Space Strategy through ANGOSAT-2, which offers seven times faster speeds than its predecessor to bridge the digital divide and expand ICT services across Africa. Launched in 2022, the satellite underscores Angola’s commitment to pan-African collaboration in space technology.

It operates a fleet of geostationary satellites that deliver a wide range of television channels and radio stations, as well as data and internet connectivity to millions of households, businesses, and governmental organizations.

nigcomsat

The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited is a Government owned limited liability company established on the 4th of April, 2006 presently under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy. NIGCOMSAT is responsible for the management and operation of Nigerian Communications Satellite (NigComSat-1R), a geostationary satellite launched on the 19th of December 2011. It is the first of its kind in Sub Saharan Africa due to its uniqueness. NigComSat-1R satellite is a quad (4) band satellite designed specifically to address the connectivity needs of Africa, covering parts of Asia and Europe. The quad band frequencies includes; C-band, Ku-band, Ka-band and L-band.

ALSAT

The ALSAT (Algerian Satellite) program is Algeria’s national space program, focusing on Earth observation satellites for natural resource monitoring and disaster management, with key missions including ALSAT-1, ALSAT-1B, ALSAT-2A, ALSAT-2B, and ALSAT-1N. ALSAT-1 is the first Algerian satellite and it is part of a group of satellites collectively known as the Disaster Monitoring Constellation (DMC). The satellite was built by a group of engineers from Surrey Satellite Technology (SSTL) and Algerian Centre National des Techniques Spatiales (CNTS). It was the first DMC satellite to be launched of the five to seven that are planned. The DMC was the first satellite constellation designed for that objective.

Asecna

ASECNA is an international public institution governed by the Dakar Convention revised in 2010 , with legal personality and financial autonomy. Created in Saint Louis, Senegal on December 12, 1959 , the Agency for the Safety ofAir Navigation in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA) constitutes, after more than half a century, a complete model of cooperative management of airspace.

West African Development Bank

The West African Development Bank – WADB (fr. Banque Ouest Africaine de Développement – BOAD) was established in 1973 to serve the nations of Francophone and Lusophone West Africa. The BOAD is organised by the Central Bank of West African States and its eight member governments: BeninBurkina FasoGuinea BissauCôte d’IvoireMaliNigerSenegal and Togo. It is funded by member states, foreign governments and international agencies. Its headquarters are in LoméTogo.
